Hybrid cars are ecological
Emit lower toxic emissions than conventional gasoline cars because less gasoline is burned. It is more environmentally friendly, causes less pollution and releases less carbon dioxide into the atmosphere. If you don’t know, carbon dioxide is one of the main reasons for increasing global warming. For example, the Toyota Prius can reduce tailpipe emissions by up to ninety percent and greenhouse gas emissions by up to fifty percent.
Tax incentives for hybrid cars
In response to global political pressure to reduce greenhouse gas emissions, President Bush signed an agreement in 2005 that will provide enormous tax breaks for car buyers. The tax incentive varies by model and is based on two factors
1. how economical the hybrid car is compared to a conventional car in 2002 with the same weight class
2. how much fuel the hybrid car can save in its lifetime compared to an equivalent conventional car
For example, a Honda Accord hybrid car has reduced tax credits of $600, while a Toyota Prius has a tax credit of $3150. Note that the tax credits for most cars will expire after 2010.
Hybrid car manufacturers are continually looking for more ways to reduce fuel consumption and improve fuel efficiency. Even as more cars are introduced, the cost of cars will drop, making them more affordable for everyone.
